Annette Blackwell was born in Selma, Alabama, and came to Ohio as a young child. She earned her undergraduate degree in public relations and corporate communications at Ursuline College. She held roles at KeyBank and University Hospitals before serving 16 years as a commercial property tax analyst at global tax firms Deloitte and Ryan. Blackwell has served as Mayor of Maple Heights since 2016. She lives in Maple Heights with her husband, Alonzo, a manager in the health information field. The couple has 3 adult children.
