Policy Issue Summaries
  • Economy: Redpath’s campaign has called for an end to all tariffs on imported goods, calling them a tax on Americans, and favors an end to “corporate welfare” and farm subsidies, immediately or phased out over no more than ten years. Citing projections that Social Security benefits could be cut by about 24% by 2032 absent reform, he has proposed the formation of a Social Security Commission, modeled on the Base Realignment and Closure (BAC) process, whose recommendations to reform the program would have to be accepted or rejected by Congress as a whole.
  • Data Centers: No campaign materials or public statements on data centers were identified at the time of this publication.
  • Healthcare: His campaign website supports reforms to Medicare, so payments go directly to enrollees as cash rather than to medical providers, with higher payments for recipients with lower lifetime incomes and worse health, designed to be budget-neutral. He also supports transferring Medicaid to state management, phasing out federal subsidies over ten years and allowing states to set their own program rules.
  • Taxes: Redpath’s campaign calls for eliminating the federal tax code and replacing it with the Tax Foundation's Growth and Opportunity Tax Reform Plan, which includes a 20% flat tax on individual income paired with a family allowance for low-income households, while preserving the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit, a 20%  distributed profits tax on corporate and pass-through business income in place of the current corporate tax system, and elimination of the estate tax with simplified capital gains treatment.
