Background and Bio
Brian Poindexter, who lives in Brook Park, Ohio, worked jobs in kitchens, factories, and the moving industry before joining the Ironworkers union in 2007. He worked within the apprenticeship program while earning an associate degree in applied industrial technology from Cuyahoga Community College, and served as a union organizer from 2012 to 2014. He has led major construction projects across Northeast Ohio and currently works as an apprenticeship instructor for Ironworkers Local 17. He has served as an At-Large member of Brookpark City Council since 2017. Poindexter divorced in 2020 and has two daughters.

Policy Issue Summaries
  • Economy and Taxes: According to Poindexter’s campaign materials, he supports economic and tax policy proposals that focus on the needs of workers. Poindexter has stated support for higher wages, protecting workers from being priced out of basic necessities, and removing incentives for companies that move jobs overseas, as well as opposition to tax proposals that primarily benefit wealthy individuals and corporations.
