Background and Bio
Mike Carey grew up in Sabina, Ohio. He earned an associate degree from Marion Military Institute and a bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University. He served in the Army National Guard from 1989 to 1999, then worked as Vice President of Government Affairs at American Consolidated Natural Resources, a coal company. He won a special election to the U.S. House in 2021 and continues to serve in that role. He lives with his wife, Meghan, and their three children.

  • Economy and Taxes: Carey's campaign website lists promoting economic growth as one of his top priorities, highlighting his work in Congress to secure federal funding investments in the region, helping address delays in veterans receiving benefits, and helping seniors navigate Social Security and Medicare to access their full benefits.
